Blooming Through the Birches Original Acrylic Painting
Blooming Through the Birches is a unique surrealist, an acrylic painting. During Covid-19 quarantine as a Native American Veteran who suffers from PTSD, I turn to the white canvas. I find with PTSD to paint the world in which my head is healing provides comfort for PTSD, stress, and anxiety.

Although, in art school, through the years I had studied Picasso and his many styles it wasn't until a few years ago that I began painting Picasso-style paintings. Inspired by watching the National Geographic, Emmy-nominated series "Genius" which tells the story behind Pablo Picasso, one of the 20th century's most influential, controversial, and celebrated artists. This series also explored are the muses who inspired him.
I explored and tested the idea of accomplishing the ability to paint surrealism just as Picasso did. Striving to accomplish this style of painting it was also my goal to trace back my Native American culture with bold experimentation and bring subjects to life through a whole new perspective.
A few years ago while I was living in California, I had painted a few large Native Picasso Surrealism oil paintings. Suffering through domestic violence, in October 2019, I had decided to suffer no more and escape the situation. Unfortunately, this meant leaving behind what I was unable to pack in two bags. These paintings were later destroyed by the ex. Although these paintings were destroyed, one day I will repaint them.
Blooming Through the Birches was a way of depicting the rise of my rebirth to grow. To flourish through the birch woodlands and bloom into a life of freedom from domestic violence. Painting is a great way to flourish your spirit and weed out the bad in life when all seems damaged and the weeds of life feel overgrown.
